We need your help! We want to spread the word and "Shout About iGEM" to places all over the world. Copy and paste one of the email options below into an email to all of your friends! Please make sure to copy shout@igem.org in all of your emails.

Also, make sure to stick a pin on the map in the location where your friend lives. We want to see how many places around the world we can spread iGEM to.

Option #1

iGEM, the International Genetically Engineered Machine competition, is a really cool undergraduate competition that promotes Synthetic Biology through the use of standard interchangeable parts. At the beginning of the summer we get a kit containing DNA of all the parts that the Registry of Standard Biological parts has and we use that over the summer to create more parts that make up a system of our own design. Then at the end of the summer everyone who competed gets together for the Jamboree in November. The Jamboree this year was so much fun. You can browse through all the team presentations and posters HERE. You can even watch the video of the presentations!

You should check out igem.org to find out all about iGEM. Sign up for the mailing list and the folks at iGEM HQ will keep you updated on what's going for next year's competition - whether you want to start a team or become involved with the competition in other ways like becoming a volunteer.
