McGill/Hanmo Li

Hello!

I am originally from China, but I have been living in Montreal, Quebec since the age of 10. I now consider myself a true Montrealer (yes we're crazy drivers and we jaywalk), and I love the city.

I am currently in my final year of my Physiology major here at McGill University. iGEM appeared very interesting after being introduced to it by Alex, who also participated last year. The experience has given me the opportunity to improve my abilities to work as a team, as well as a leader. Also, it is incredible to actually apply textbook knowledge to hands-on research -- it is an invaluable experience. Even though Physiology does not technically have that much relationship with microbiology, but our physiology curriculum is very multi-disciplinary, and it allows me to branch into other areas of the biological sciences.

Aside from the academic side of things, I am very knowledgeable when it comes to computer hardware, building computers and such. Also I love to listen to a rather wide range of genres of music, including pop, R&B, classical, dance/disco, trance, jazz, big band/swing, and such. I also love to whistle, and I dare say that I am pretty good at it! ;)
