Purdue: John Schumm
John Schumm is a graduate student in the college in Biological and Food Process Engineering. Last year John helped found the first purdue iGEM team and the Biological Engineering in Genetics Club. John grew up in Tucson, AZ, and in has focused his academic atention in engineering and biotechnology. He works in LORRE labs (Laboratory of Renewable Resources in Engineering) and is working on a number of different projects involving the fermentation of celluolistic material. In addition he is an active member of University Lutheran Church and the president of the church council.
