My name is Lauren and I actually survived being the only girl intern this summer! I attend UCSD and am majoring in Molecular Biology. I want to become a research scientist when I am older.
I was introduced to biotech in my sophomore year of high school when I was offered a space in my high school's two year biotech academy. The summer before iGem, I worked for eight weeks as an intern in an oncology lab at UCSF; this summer, I was glad to be a part of the iGem team.
