The iGEM 2007 Jamboree took place on November 3-4, 2007. There were 54 teams representing 19 countries for a total of about 750 participants.
The schedule of events can be found here.
Requirements
In order to participate in iGEM 2007, teams had to follow some basic requirements. These included:
- Project documentation
- Each team was responsible for documenting their project on the iGEM 2007 wiki. Teams were to make sure that at the end of the summer, the project was sufficiently documented so that anyone could see the progress that the team made over the summer be able to replicate their project. While the teams did not have to use the iGEM 2007 wiki as their main wiki (other options included OpenWetWare, school wikis, etc.), they did have to have all pertinent information on their team page of the iGEM 2007 wiki by the deadline. At this point the wiki was frozen and no further edits could be made.
- Part documentation
- Teams were required to document the parts that they made on the Registry. The purpose of this is not just for iGEM, but because all of synthetic biology depends on the development of well-characterized, reliable, standardized biological parts that have been designed to be simple to use and understand. The first step is complete documentation.
- Send in their parts (DNA) to the Registry
Presentations
- For each team's 20 minute presentation we captured a video of the team presenting and the slideshow presentation that the team prepared. Both of these are available for each team.
