Bay Area RSI Team

Our team consists of students from University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University. Our goal is to repair damaged hearts. We are engineering embryonic stem-like cells to recognize and bind to damaged heart cardiomyocytes, form a sheet of cells and enable cells to penetrate into the inner layers of the heart and then differentiate into cardiomyocytes in situ. Cells that fail to bind in a defined amount of time will self-destruct.

Our private wiki is available at [http://www.regensci.org/cgi-bin/twiki/view/IGEM2007/WebHome] Sections of our wiki that contain copyrighted journal articles are not public. However, we are in the process of adding public pages that do not have copyright problems.
