We have made significant progress in modeling bacterial growthUsing Monad's bacterial growth equation we were able to simulate bacterial growth and by using our own equations to simulate the lysogenic lytic decision of the bacteria upon infection we were able to simulate infection.  The model can be run deterministically or stochastically.  However, it was found that stochastic simulation did not add significant variability to our model and deterministic simulation was sufficient to represent the data.

The team has made significant progress in modeling an epidemic with E. coli. Monad's bacterial growth equation was used to simulate bacterial growth and additional equations were written to simulate the lysogenic and lytic decision of the bacteria upon infection. The model can be run deterministically or stochastically. However, it was found that stochastic simulation did not add significant variability to our model and deterministic simulation was sufficient to represent the data. These accomplishments will be documented and submitted for publication.
