Preparing Antibiotics:
The following is the protocol for preparing Kanamycin and Ampicillin from their stock compunds:
- Add less than 5ml dH20 to a large volume tube (blue caps) eg. 4ml.
- Add 500ug Amp stock ->100ug/ml or, 50ug Kan stock -> 10ug/ml.
- Add water till the final volume is made up to 5ml.
- Filter sterilize (remember the syringe screws onto the filter to be secured, not pushed in.
- With a P1000 pipette, extract 1ml into 5 epitubes.
- Store @ -20C.
