The University of Ljubjana
They became the reigning champion of iGEM last year after winning the Grand Prize and returning to Slovenia with the coveted BioBrick trophy. This year they are building synthetic defender cells for the immune system.
Davidson's iGEM 2007 team
Davidson has teamed up with Missouri Western again, building upon their bacterial computation work from last year (based on the hin/hix dna recombination mechanism) with a project to solve the Hamiltonian Path problem in vivo
The Brown iGEM 2007 team
When the team isn't busy in front of a video camera (the team has published several Synthetic Biology -related videos online), they spend their time engineering a lead detector and a Tri-stable Toggle switch based in E.coli.
The Bangalore iGEM 07 Team
Undergraduate students from all over India spent their summer at NCBS in Bangalore, India, testing bottom-up design principles in E.Coli Bangalore has the special distinction this year of being the fastest team to send their biological parts to the Registry!
The Imperial College of London iGEM 2007 Team
The 10 undergraduate students of the Imperial College team are investigating Cell-Free Systems and using their finding to develop their two projects: The Cell By Date and the Infector Detector.
The University of Lethbridge iGEM 2007 Team
The goal of this Canadian team is to create a βbio-prospector;β a microorganism capable of moving up a concentration gradient for a particular small molecule (theophylline), and activating either a metabolic or signaling pathway.
The University of Edinburgh iGEM 2007 Team
The Edinburgh team is working on two projects, a signal generator device that produces an output of PoPS as a function of bacterial cell division, and self-flavoring yogurt project, in which the gram-positive bacteria used to produce yogurt are engineered with a variety of flavor enzymes
